"The Toujours is a massive step up from the usual logo-heavy totes. The calfskin is surprisingly structured and actually holds its shape when the bag is sitting on a desk, which isn't always a given with these softer 'east-west' silhouettes. I'm especially impressed by the CD Lock clasp—the way it twists to tuck in the sides completely changes the profile into something much more architectural. I will say, the dangling D.I.O.R. charms feel like a bit of an afterthought compared to the rest of the bag; there's a certain irony in such a sophisticated piece having cheeky-bordering-on-obnoxious (and loud) gold trinkets; but perhaps that is the point. Still, I find myself wishing they’d lean fully into that 'you know if you know' aesthetic and ditch them entirely, or at least make them easily detachable. Now, the adjustable handle notches are a highlight here, making the transition from hand-carry to shoulder really seamless."
